From the Principal

Dear Minnie Hughes Families and Students:

I am grateful and excited about being a part of the Minnie Hughes family. This year we are really focusing on our students’ needs individually in order for ALL students to be on grade level as measured by the MAP and PASS assessments. We have started progress monitoring, in order to assess and watch student growth, as well determine whether students need more individual assistance academically or behaviorally. The CORE team, with the help of our new literacy coach, has been diligently researching interventions to purchase that will suit our students best.

I want you all to know that I will do everything within my power to ensure that we can provide a quality education to our students. The Minnie Hughes faculty and staff will strive to ensure that students receive the best education possible. We truly follow the superintendent’s motto, “Excellence is our Standard.” We have incorporated several changes within our school day in order to meet EVERY child’s needs. We are utilizing best practice strategies in the classrooms, monitoring our children and their growth, as well as providing ample support and interventions for those that are struggling or need a boost.

I feel confident that we are going to have another successful year at Minnie Hughes, making gains academically and creating a place where children and teachers are happy to be!
