House System
Four Houses, One MHES Family
The Ron Clark Academy House System features four houses — our learning and leadership communities for students. Each House has unique properties such as its own color, symbols, nation of heritage, history, and more. Over time, each House also starts to take on its own values and personality driven by the culture of the students and staff within it.
At Minnie Hughes Elementary, we have implemented a house system inspired by the Ron Clark Academy to encourage collaboration among students. Students are sorted into their house by spinning the house wheel. Each house represents important character traits we are wanting to instill in our students. Throughout the year, they will have house meetings and work together to gain points for their house. The four houses and their descriptions are below.
