A Talent Development Academy

Committed to Educate All!

Dear Parents and Students of Minnie Hughes Elementary School:

“We must be the change we wish to see in the world.”  --Gandhi.

Welcome back!

I hope all of the Minnie Hughes Family's and Educators had plenty of rest, took time to read and had some fun during the summer months.  I also hope that all of the Minnie Cat Students, parents, and staff are enthusiastic about the new school year. I am honored to be your principal each and every day and look forward to seeing all of you at our Open House and Celebration on August 11th at 6pm.  Minnie Hughes teachers and staff are excited to meet all our students and families, and support you with upcoming educational goals for the new year. We would like our parents and students to know that we are committed and prepared to meet all of our students’ academic needs, which is why this school year is dedicated to student achievement and to closing the achievement gaps.

At Minnie Hughes, we strive for excellence!  Our mission is clear in that we will prepare our students to become competent and responsible citizens by collaborating with parents, community, and staff to provide an educational experience which will maximize the potential of all students in our ever-changing society. With this mission in place we must work together to bring this mission into existence.  Our staff will continue to develop the necessary skills and strategies to enable and coach our students to be successful, and compete within a global society. As your principal, I am committed to you and to your student’s personal and academic success!

I look forward to seeing everyone and getting to my favorite part of the school year and that is the work and collaboration within in our Minnie Hughes School!  Maya Angelou stated, “Nothing will work unless you do.”  Therefore, let’s make this school year one of the very best years ever by providing our Minnie Hughes students with the best education possible.
